Distributor / GPO Sales Tracing & Channel Governance
Indirect-channel operating governance connecting trace-sales data, distributor and GPO contracts, recurring pricing, customer recognition, freight, fees, sales-credit attribution, and supplier-channel data integration.
Results and contributions.
Operating context
Indirect distributor and GPO channels created visibility, pricing, contract, customer-recognition, fee, freight, and sales-credit problems that could not be managed reliably through isolated transactions.
What made the work difficult
Trace-sales information had to connect external channel activity back to internal customers, pricing, contracts, commissions, and account ownership while preserving shared responsibility across finance, sales, customer service, IT/EDI, legal, distributors, and GPOs.
Responsibility and authority
Dean led executive commercial-policy, pricing, contract, data, and recurring channel-governance decisions. Distributor systems, accounting, EDI development, customer service, sales execution, and legal work remained cross-functional.
How the work moved forward
- Evaluated and governed trace-sales feeds, portal, flat-file, and EDI options for indirect-channel visibility.
- Connected distributor and GPO data to customer/location mapping, pricing, agreements, fees, freight, and sales-credit rules.
- Implemented recurring sales-tracing and commission-processing governance across nationwide channel activity.
- Supported product-data and procurement integration with major channel partners and separately governed a supplier-network qualification/onboarding-design cycle.
