Situation

Operating context

PPI needed a governed product-data foundation that could connect engineering, product management, manufacturing, quality, warehouse execution, and commercialization across a large product portfolio while preserving important legacy business rules.

What made the work difficult

The system had to govern product, variant, SKU, subassembly, component, BOM, routing, work-instruction, equipment, and category data while maintaining audit history, engineering-change controls, legacy migration, and live operating continuity.

Dean's role

Responsibility and authority

Dean authored functional designs and requirements for master data, search, history, reporting, BOM navigation, and user interaction. As General Manager and COO, he set priorities and directed implementation with software developers and cross-functional users.
