Medical Supply E-Commerce, Inventory & Order Management Transformation
Founder-led healthcare e-commerce operation integrating a large product catalog, supplier relationships, product data, pricing, inventory ownership, drop shipping, fulfillment, customer service, digital marketing, and payment/compliance constraints.
Results and contributions.
Gross sales and Total sales are separate Shopify measures.
Operating context
Seniors and caregivers needed affordable access to hearing-assistance products and medical supplies, while the business needed a scalable operating model for supplier data, catalog breadth, pricing, inventory, order flow, fulfillment, customer support, and medical-product payment constraints.
What made the work difficult
The operation expanded rapidly without deep supplier API automation. It had to balance stocked and drop-shipped products, catalog integrity, customer education, returns, payment-provider restrictions, and founder workload.
Responsibility and authority
Dean founded and operated the business with decision authority across product strategy, suppliers, purchasing, inventory, catalog data, fulfillment, shipping, customer service, technology, marketing, finance, compliance, and business development.
How the work moved forward
- Launched and operated the Shopify-based healthcare e-commerce business and its supporting operating processes.
- Expanded and governed supplier onboarding, catalog mapping, product data, pricing, imagery, and marketplace feeds.
- Managed a hybrid stocked-inventory and drop-ship fulfillment model, including supplier ordering, shipping, returns, and customer service.
- Integrated marketing, analytics, payment/compliance risk, and day-to-day operational controls into the commerce workflow.
